"the way social networks (Twitter, mostly) have gradually killed blogs as personal publishing platforms. "

Sim, porque escreveste isto no twitter e tudo. Os blogs já morreram.

Hi,
Thanks for the great feedback!

Just dropping a note that the voting was taken into really heavy consideration.

All the work we did was related to categorizing - what if all the awards were given to demos or mobile apps? We wanted to make sure that there was some diversification. The base for the discussion was always the top ten most scored projects, which actually included the example you gave. We were impressed that such a low-level presentation got so many good votes. That actually made our job a whole lot easy, since we wanted to make sure that the decision process wouldn't take longer than half an hour. It *is* very hard to balance between a judge panel, the public and the categorization.

We never talk on categorization to make sure that we don't impose any limits. "We must run for the best mobile app! or Social app!", this also works as a great geek zeitgeist, the increase in numbers of Android apps started already last year and keeps on growing. This is easy to check on retrospective, but last year we had no idea on the amount of Android apps that would be competing, for instance.

This year we're happier with the process, we'll improve for sure and hope that next year's will be clearer.

Once again, thanks for the feedback, we keep on learning and we hope that next year's will be even better!
